Background and History
The Texas Exes Scholarship Foundation was created in 2009 as a separate 501(c)(3) legal entity affiliated with the Ex-Students' Association of the University of Texas. The Foundation is established with its own board of directors, grant making identity and governance structure. As a supporting organization of the Ex-Students' Association, the Foundation enjoys public charity status, as well as the professional services of the Ex-Students' Association, including staffing and administrative support. The Ex-Students Association of the University of Texas (Texas Exes) has a long history of providing scholarships to students attending UT Austin. The Foundation is responsible for administering association scholarships, including investment of the endowment and selection of recipients.
- Chapter Scholarships
Funds are raised by local chapters of The Texas Exes primarily for incoming freshmen from high schools in the chapter's geographic area. Selection of recipient is done by the local chapter's scholarship committee in the spring of each year.
- Named Scholarships
Donors have created these scholarships in honor or memory of individuals and organizations. Criteria for selection is based on the donor and can include, high school attended, geography, type of major, ethnicity, and other factors important to the donor. Selection is made by the Foundation's scholarship committee in the spring of each year and can be awarded to incoming freshman as well as upper classmen.
- Forty Acres Scholarships
Comprehensive scholarships covering 4 years of undergraduate study, including tuition, room, board, books, service learning experience, study abroad and internships. Selection is made by Foundation's scholarship committee in the spring of each year.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the management and administration of all three scholarship programs.

Staff
Our staff is committed to delivering more than a check to our scholarship recipients. We want them to have a great experience while on campus, take advantage of all the resources available to them and understand the role philanthropy played in their education.

Investment Philosophy
The Foundation has entered into an investment management agreement with The Ex-Students' Association to manage endowment assets. The association has an investment committee of 12 alumni, who are investment professionals. They contract with Presidio Wealth Management to consult on asset allocation, Investment Policy and investment managers.
