Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P. Challenge Grant Scholarship
For a deserving Hispanic or African American law student. The scholarship will fund three years of study as long as the recipient remains enrolled as a full time student in the School of Law and makes satisfactory progress toward his or her degree. Recommended by the UT School of Law.
Hutch Bass Memorial Scholarship
For athletes who have completed eligibility for intercollegiate competition but have not received a university degree. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Margaret C. Berry Scholarship
For an outstanding sophomore woman with achievements in scholastics, extracurricular activities, and service to the University and community. Awarded by Orange Jackets, Mortar Board, and The Texas Exes. A special application is available from Orange Jackets each spring.
Ellen Engler Burks Memorial Scholarship
For a UT student who is U.S. Citizen beginning his/her senior year as an English major and has maintained a 2.75 GPA while attending UT Austin. The applicant must have the last 60 course hours completed at UT Austin. The UT Department of English should recommend the 3-5 recipients to the Texas Exes Scholarship Committee based on the eligibility stated above and the recipient’s outstanding writing abilities in prose and/or poetry. A sample of the students’ written work should accompany their recommendation.
Earl Campbell Scholarship
For deserving University athletes. The recipient must have completed participation in intercollegiate competition for The University of Texas and be continuing his or her education. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Mike Campbell Scholarship
The Mike Campbell Scholarship is for deserving students recommended by the Department of Men’s Athletics.
Ruben R. and Dardanella G. Cardenas Challenge Grant Scholarship
For deserving Mexican American students in the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin. Special consideration will be given to students who are mobility impaired. The scholarship will fund three years of study as long as the recipient remains enrolled as a full time student in the School of Law and makes satisfactory progress toward his or her degree. Recommended by the School of Law.
Judson Daniel Davis Memorial Scholarship
For a member in good standing with the Longhorn Band. The Director of the Longhorn Band will select the recipient on the basis of outstanding attitude, spirit, work ethic and pride in the Longhorn Band and The University of Texas.
Marian and Dick Dozier Scholarship
For a qualifying employee or the son or daughter of an employee of Austaco, Inc. (d.b.a. Taco Bell or Pizza Hut) who has financial need. Recipients will be selected on an annual basis, but the award may be received by the same student more than once.
For outstanding graduate students in theater. The recipients must be recommended by the Department of Theatre.
Jerry and Crockett English Scholarship
For deserving members of the UT golf team who are recommended by the coach. Given alternately to members of the women’s and men’s teams.
Fallen Wrangler Memorial Scholarship
For outstanding members of the Texas Wranglers who personify qualities of leadership, community service, academic achievement, and extracurricular activities.
Helen Margaret Flinn Memorial Scholarship
For graduate students in music. Recipients will be recommended by the chair of the School of Music.
Tyler Garrett Cross Memorial Scholarship
For male students at the University of Texas at Austin that are members of SAE Fraternity and/or the Longhorn Club Lacrosse Team. Applicants should exhibit qualities of leadership, humility, friendship and brotherhood. SAE Fraternity and the Longhorn Club Lacrosse Team wil nominate students annually.
Pete Geren Challenge Grant Scholarship in Law
For deserving African American or Hispanic students in the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin. The scholarship will fund two recipients annually. The recipients can continue to receive the scholarships for an additional two years as long as they remain enrolled as full time students in the School of Law and make satisfactory progress toward their degrees. Recommended by the School of Law.
Stella Gliddon Memorial Scholarship
For student in the School of Music. Recipients will be recommended by the chair of the School of Music.
Carol F. Goodfriend Scholarship
For a junior or senior in UT’s School of Social Work with financial need and at least a 3.0 overall grade point average. First preference should be given to students from the greater Houston area. If no resident of the greater Houston area is deemed worthy of the scholarship, then the recipient should be a Texas resident.
Deborah C. Howell Memorial Scholarship for Women in Journalism
For a woman student at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Journalism who has ademonstrated financial need and is entering the sophomore year. Recommended by the Department of Journalism.
Laurie Petermann Jenschke Music Scholarship
For entering freshmen or current students who are music majors. Students must demonstrate financial need and exhibit a strong commitment to music education and performance. Preference will be given to students from Gillespie, Kerr, or LlanoCounties.
JTS BBA Study Abroad Scholarship
First -year students at the McCombs School of Business who are planning on studying abroad thesummer after their freshmen year through one of the BBA Exchange Programs are eligible to receive the award. Students must have a minimum of 3.25 in-residence GPA in their first semester at UT. International students are not eligible to study abroad in their own countries (i.e. students from Mexico are not eligible to study abroad in Mexico). Recommended by the BBA Study Abroad Advisors.
Professor and Mrs. Karl K. Klein Endowed Graduate Scholarship
For graduate students in health education and/or health promotion and fitness who show promise or contribution to their fields. Applicants must be recommended by the chair of the department.
Fred E. Lewis Jr. Athletic Scholarship
For a University football or baseball player who has completed his eligibility to compete but has not yet received his UT degree. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Men’s Intercollegiate Athletics.
Fred E. Lewis Jr. Longhorn Band Scholarship
For a current member of the Longhorn Band who is also majoring in music. The student must be recommended by the director of the Longhorn Band.
J. Jeffery Linhart Memorial Scholarship
For a deserving, highly motivated junior or senior who is studying pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin and needs financial assistance to complete a degree. Recommended by the dean of the College of Pharmacy.
Clyde Littlefield Graduate Fellowship
For University of Texas athletes who, after completing requirements for a bachelor’s degree, enter graduate or professional school. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Salvador and Viola Luna Endowed Scholarship
The award is for a Hispanic student from the City of Houston or HarrisCounty, who demonstrates scholarship, leadership, and financial need. The scholarship may be given to an entering freshman or undergraduate, and the same student can receive the scholarship more than once.
Humboldt C. and Evangeline S. Mandell Scholarship
For a senior recipient of the Texas Exes President’s Leadership Award who will be doing graduate study at The University of Texas at Austin.
Leon Maner Memorial Scholarships
Scholarships restricted to graduates of Cisco High School and Cisco College who will attend The University of Texas at Austin. Several awarded each year. Apply through the superintendent of the Cisco Independent School District in early spring.
Hugh McAmis Memorial Fellowship for a Student of Organ
For a student of organ with preference given to graduate students and students of pipe organ. Recipients will be recommended by the School of Music.
McCall, Parkhurst & Horton, L.L.P. Challenge Grant Scholarship
For deserving African American or Hispanic students in the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin. The scholarship will fund three years of study as long as the recipient remains enrolled as a full time student in the School of Law and makes satisfactory progress toward his or her degree.
General Everett McDonald Scholarship
For an aerospace studies cadet who has demonstrated sustained outstanding leadership within the Air Force ROTC cadet corps. Recommended by the professor of aerospace studies from nominations within that department.
W.J. McKie Scholarship in Law
For outstanding law students who are recommended by the School of Law.
Louie Lee and Mel Miller Scholarship
Awarded to a participant in intercollegiate athletics, preferably football, not as an athlete but in a support position such as a manager or a trainer. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Men’s Intercollegiate Athletics.
Nettie Doscher More Endowed Fellowship
For outstanding graduate students in UT’s school of Journalism. Recipients will be recommended by Department of Journalism.
Judge Raymond L. Murray Memorial Scholarship
For a student at The University of Texas who has been accepted to the UT law school and will be attending in the fall. Recipients must be native Texans, have demonstrated drive and ability to succeed, and require financial assistance to be able to continue school. Recipients will be recommended by the School of Law.
For deserving minority students, with a preference given to an Asian Americans, who are majoring in broadcast journalism. The upper-division, full-time student must demonstrate financial need and academic excellence with at least a 3.3 GPA. The student should also exhibit professional intent to pursue a broadcast journalism career via extra curricular activities and internships. The scholarship can be received by the same student more than once. Should funds allow, the scholarship is available to one or more eligible students.Recipients will be recommended to the Texas Exes Scholarship Committee by the Dean of the College of Communications and/or the Chair of the Journalism Department.
Knox Nunnally Scholarship
For a University of Texas at Austin varsity athlete who has completed eligibility for intercollegiate competition but has not received a degree from UT Austin.
Knox Nunnally Law School Scholarship
For a UT varsity athlete who has completed his/her eligibility to compete and has applied and been accepted to the UT law school. Consideration is given to scholarship and leadership. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Ed Olle Memorial Scholarship
For an athlete who has completed eligibility for intercollegiate competition at UT Austin but has not received his/her degree. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
For an upper division student in the Department of Chemistry or Biochemistry who shows a commitment to scientific research at the graduate level, particularly in the interface of biology and chemistry. Pre-med majors are not eligible. Recipients will be recommended by the chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

For a deserving African American or Hispanic at UT’s School of Law.
Louise Andrews Schroeder Memorial Scholarship
For members of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority who demonstrate the ideals of loyalty, friendship, personal concern for others, and a love of the University and their sorority.
Christopher Schulze Scholarship In French
For a junior or senior student majoring in French at The University of Texas at Austin with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recommended by the chair of the Department of French and Italian.
Christopher Schulze Scholarship In Zoology
For a junior or senior student majoring in zoology at The University of Texas at Austin with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recommended by the chair of the Department of Zoology.
Martha Gliddon Schulze Scholarship
For a junior or senior student at The University of Texas at Austin who is majoring in drama. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 is required. Recommended by the chair of the Department of Drama.
Todd Milam Schulze Memorial Scholarship
For a junior or senior in Radio-Television-Film who has shown promise in writing for film or broadcast. Selection will be based on demonstrated creativity and imagination in the field. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Radio-Television-Film.

Silver Spurs/Lowell Lebermann Students of the Year Scholarships
Selected by the Silver Spurs on the basis of leadership, scholarship, service and quality of a written essay.
Dolores Simmons Snyder Scholarship in Nutritional Science
For an outstanding junior or senior female undergraduate student who is studying nutritional science in the Department of Human Ecology at The University of Texas at Austin, and who maintains a GPA of 3.5 in her major courses, an overall GPA of 3.0, is a resident of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico, and who exhibits an interest in pursuing a career in food, wine, or the hospitality industry. She must demonstrate leadership, participation in extra curricular activities, and be in financial need to continue her studies. Provided she maintains the above required GPA, she may receive the scholarship more than once. Recommended by the chair of nutritional science.
Cathy Sorsby Longhorn Band Scholarship
For a female member of the Longhorn Band with an outstanding academic record who has demonstrated leadership through involvement in campus activities and has exhibited enthusiasm for The University of Texas at Austin. Recommended by the director of the Longhorn Band.
Raymond Starr Scholarship for History
For outstanding undergraduate history majors at The University of Texas at Austin. Recommended by the Chair of the History Department.
Strausberger & Price L.L.P. Challenge Grant Scholarship in Law in Memory of Mike Joplin
For African American or Hispanic students who have completed their first year at UT’s School of Law and have demonstrated academic excellence and involvement in extracurricular activities are eligible to be considered for this scholarship. Recipients may reapply for the scholarship after completing their second year at the School of Law if they have continued to maintain excellent academic and involvement records. The School of Law at the University of Texas at Austin will provide to the Texas Exes the names of recipients that meet the eligibility requirements stated above.
Ethel and Robert L. Terry Memorial Scholarship
For a deserving graduate student in microbiology and for an undergraduate student in petroleum engineering who are Texas residents with high academic accomplishments and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be recommended by the Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Department of Microbiology.
Texas Caissons Scholarship
For outstanding students enrolled in UT’s Army ROTC program. Recipients must be recommended by UT’s Army Professor of Military Science.
Texas Cheer and Pom Scholarship
For currently enrolled Texas Cheerleaders or Texas Pom; based on academic performance, need, and contribution to the UT cheerleading squad and Texas Pom.
Texas Drums Alumni Scholarship
Applicants must have been a member of Texas Drums during the previous football season and be actively pursuing his/her academic studies with utmost diligence while maintaining a commitment to Texas Drums, have an overall 3.0 GPA, be an undergraduate, enrolled full-time, must intend to participate in Texas Drums the following year and must complete the Texas Drums Alumni Scholarship form. Selection will be made by a committee of Texas Drums Alumni, with approval completed through the Longhorn Band Office. The Longhorn Band office will recommend a recipient to the Texas Exes for final approval.

For deserving African American or Hispanic students in the School of Law at The University of Texas at Austin. Annie Weatherall Memorial Scholarship
For an outstanding cadet at Air Force ROTC Detachment 825 who embodies the spirit of motivation and participation in events within the corps and UT life. This cadet should excel academically, be a team player, and display a positive attitude toward an Air Force career and school, as representative of the spirit of Annie Weatherall.
Nick Woodward Memorial Scholarship
For a UT varsity athlete who is continuing to pursue a degree after his or her eligibility has expired. First preference will be given to students from UT’s football or baseball teams. Second preference will be given to those who are pursuing degrees to prepare them for work in the energy industry. Recommended by UT’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
